Vijay Deverakonda REACTS to Chris Martin’s ‘I’m from Telangana’ comment during Coldplay India concert; writes, “Someone needs to…”

British rock band Coldplay took over India and how. The band – comprising of vocalist-pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer-percussionist Will Champion, recently performed five concerts in India and got the whole nation talking. From singing the Vande Mataram, to saying ‘Shah Rukh Khan forever’, dedicating a song to Jasprit Bumrah and more, Chris won the hearts of millions.

During their last show in Gujarat, Chris joked about Coldplay being an Indian band and revealed which states the band members hail from. Now, actor Vijay Deverakonda has reacted to the statement as Chris Martin said, “I’m from Telangan.” Read on to know what he wrote.

During their last show in India, Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin joked about being from Telangana. In the video Chris is heard saying, “I would like to say thank you to the rest of the band. We’ve been brothers now for 29 years. And, it’s just the most amazing thing to be part of, and what most of you don’t know is that all four of us were born in India, so we’re really an Indian band.”

The video then features Chris saying, “So please welcome our guitarist – he’s a Punjabi, he was born in Punjab, Mr Johnny Buckler. (He’s) 100% Punjabi” Pointing towards bassist Guy Berryman he adds, “He looks like he is from Scotland, but he is not. He is from Tamil Nadu in the same. Everyone knows that I am from Telangana. And please welcome, all the way from Ahmedabad – 100Z% Gujarati, on the drums and everything else in many ways, the leader of our band, the person who keeps us together, the scarym lovely, incredibly bright, beautiful Will Champion.”

And now, Vijay Deverakonda has reacted to Chris Martin’s comment. Taking to his Instagram Stories, Vijay reshared the video and welcomed the singer to his state. He wrote, “Chris Martin (heart emoji) welcome! someone needs to make a Podusthunna poddumeeda X Coldplay mashup.”

Coldplay performed the biggest concert in India’s history when they entertained their fans at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. On Monday, January 27, the band shared on X.
